Mining is here, where do you want to work? This year was one of Yukon’s busiest for mining activity. Exploration topped out at over 160 million and 115 placer operations pulled an estimated 63,000 crude ounces of gold from the ground. After a 10 year absence of hard rock mining, Yukon welcomed the opening of Sherwood Copper’s Minto operation that is now shipping its product to markets around the world. This 100 million dollar mine employs approximately 100 people 50% of which are from the Yukon.
