Our Funders

The Yukon Mine Training Association is proud of our government partners.

Human Resources and Skills Development Canada – Aboriginal Skills and Employment Partnership (ASEP) Program The overall objective of the Aboriginal Skills and Employment Partnership (ASEP) program is sustainable employment for Aboriginal people in major economic industries, leading to lasting benefits for Aboriginal communities, families, and individuals. It is geared to providing Aboriginal people with the skills they need to participate in economic opportunities such as mining, construction, fisheries, tourism, hydro development, and public infrastructure projects across Canada.

The YMTA is funded under this program for their "Partnership-People-Production: Get Into It" project.

INAC is providing funding to YMTA through its Strategic Investments in Northern Economic Development Investment Program. Its goal is to promote the economic development of the North, in order to strengthen territorial economies and increase participation by northerners.

Northern Strategy Trust provides funding to YMTA. The Northern Strategy Trust is a jointly run process by Yukon Government and First Nations proponents for the purpose of providing widespread benefit for Yukon as outlined in the Yukon Chapter of the Northern Strategy.

The Yukon Government provides assistance with services and funds from the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, the Department of Economic Development, and the Department of Education.

Yukon Workers' Compensation Board is providing assistance to YMTA for the purpose of developing Yukon standards to ensure safety in the workplace for key mine related occupations including the front line supervisor, placer safety training, driller safety, and exploration safety.
